The Equus Effect
Gold’s Dragoons is not a tax-exempt charity but it does help tax-exempt charities with a military mission. Foremost among those is The Equus Effect, based in Sharon, Ct, which works with veterans and first responders using interaction with horses. Everyone is invited to view their latest video at https://vimeo.com/362400638. As a military organization with a horse cavalry tradition there can be a no better fit for our ethos and history. This is the charity we support at our annual polo cup game and will continue to do so in future years. Those wishing to contribute directly can do so using the website link: https://www.theequuseffect.org/
Their mission and philosophy is as follows:
The Equus Effect Mission To help veterans, first responders and others in transition build healthy, authentic relationships at home, work and school through purposeful engagement with horses.
Our Vision A country where veterans and others who work in high-stress environments have the opportunity to enjoy the physical, mental and emotional freedom they were willing to give their lives to protect.
Our Values We never charge veterans for our services. Our sincere desire is to give those who want to return to their communities and live satisfying and productive lives ‘a leg up’ through our five-week curriculum.
"We rely completely on the generosity of people who want to see these brave men and women go from surviving to thriving".
