Membership
Members in good standing may propose new members at our annual Nominating Dinner. Proposed new member names and details are to be listed in the dinner application and are subject to the approval of the Board of Directors. Proposing members remain responsible for the actions of their guests even after they have been inducted into the troop. Any member in doubt about the suitability of any proposed new member should contact the board at the email address below.
Once inducted, membership is for life, unless asked by the Troop Commander to resign or the member choses to officially resign. Members who fail to pay their annual dues automatically go onto the "inactive list" and may return to "good standing" on payment of all interim unpaid annual dues. While on the inactive list they will not receive any communication from the troop and should ask to be reinstated as an active member using the email listed below. Such a request will usually be granted.
Proposed members should complete and send an email to the troop commander with their proposer's name, their own name and contact details, details of military service, if applicable, professional experience, other club memberships and what they expect from membership in Gold's Dragoons. All such applications will be reviewed by a member of the board of directors for suitability.
Prospective members should know that we are close to capacity and may have to go to a waiting list in the near future. We are over 95% ex military but such service is not a requirement for membership. All prospective members must support the ethos of military service and will be subject to the rules of the mess and conform to the ideal of "an officer and a gentleman".
