Our special thanks to the people that made the game possible, including
the Polo Secretary of Gold's, Bill Harris, and Rich Terbrusch, Gold's team captain, as well as the umpire. We had
a great announcer in our own Jim Brodie who understood that many people were attending their first polo game and he was very
helpful in his explanations. We salute our Master of Horse who delivered the troop guidon at the gallop and to the wonderful
talent of Gretchen Tucker who sang the National Anthem a capella to open the ceremonies. We greatly appreciated the
skills of our own Music Meister, Ox Gara and, for music of a different version, the efforts of our duty piper, Mick Burgess,
who piped the Master of Horse onto the field to the tune "Gary Owen", the regimental march of the 7th US Cavalry.
Special thanks are due to our incorruptible scorer James Brodie. Our grateful thanks also to Carla Nelson and her staff at
the Fairfield County Hunt Club who did such stalwart work to provide such an excellent dinner dance the night before the game,
lunch on the day and preparing the field for play. In memory of our late Secretary/Treasurer, Lt. Gavin Anderson, RNVR, a cup is awarded
annually to the Most Valuable Player of the Gold's Polo Cup Challenge game. The 2016 winner was George "Chip"
Stiegler. 2017
Polo Results The Gold's
Dragoons polo team plays year-round. Gold's continues to win so much that they "may get tired of winning", in
the words of our commander in chief. Game details will be posted when available. All such victories were a fine preparation
for the Gold's Dragoons Cup Final victory on August 27th.
